This is a handy knot. I use it for Gatorade bottles. My experience is that when you're the only one carrying a beverage cuz you're the one with the cool bottle knot, suddenly everybody on the family walk will want a drink from your bottle. User beware.

This knot is better than the barrel knot when the tied object (bottle or log or whatever weird shape) has a protrusion around it to hold it, from underneath without slipping like a bottle does in its so called neck), because it still allows the bottle to be hidden neatly in a tight pocket and also allows the bottle to stand without falling over from rope underneath it.

But for else the barrel knot is great.Because Not every object has such a feature .

Any ideas for knot work on a metal bucket hand dropped down a well (the handles broken), one which doesn't slip off over the bottom of the bucket if it goes upside down please anyone? 🙏
