So I watched this on our way home and I thought, “I’ll make that tofu work”
Wet mixture: chickpea flour, plant milk, pepper, salt, garlic powder
Dry: starch (potato, arrowroot), nut yeast and spices, s&p
Cover tofu with wet mixture (chickpea flour mixed with liquid makes like an egg mixture just adjust to your desired consistency) the coat with dry then fry! It works soooo good. We are having mee goreng for dinner and I’m having this tofu, veggies and rice with it!!! Thank you for the inspiration!

Black salt makes it have the sulfur taste like egg. Doesn’t take much of it either. I see people use soft tofu for salad dressing recipes too. Thanks judy

I'm not sure if this would work to help it not stick, but it enhances the flavor of everything I've tried it with! add some dijon mustard (about a tablespoon) then add the same amount of flour, then add a little water at a time until it becomes the consistency of a mixed egg basically and dip the tofu in that before the seasoning mix or do the seasoning first, then the dijon "egg", then the starch, idk which way would work better. somehow the dijon just adds more of an eggy taste, and I do this all the time in things that call for an egg wash when battering then frying things like cauliflower or tofu and it always enhances the flavor of anything savory really and the crispness as opposed to just dipping it in non-dairy milk for the egg wash. Hopefully it would help it not stick too. This looks awesome can't wait to try it!

Rose, will you do a video on tempe? Maybe ways to prepare. I tried it once and didn't love it. I do however, love tofu!!! This recipe looked very yummy!!

Omg! rice, tofu and tempe are very common food in Indonesia and almost everytime we eat rice. You should try rice with papaya soup (cook tempe, tofu, potato, young papaya with coconut milk, garlic, onion, salt, and turmeric), it’s delicious too. 👌

I've been craving this poached "egg" thingy ever since you uploaded the video four days ago. Today I finally bought silky tofu to try it out.

Your recipes are the most creative and useful! I love them so much ❤️ Who agrees?
I hope you have an amazing saturday and I wanna recommend you a wonderful chill out song: Benedict Ammann - The Rules
I think it's the perfect song for a relaxing autumn weekend ❤️

If you freeze (then thaw) the soft tofu and squeeze out all the excess water, you'll have tofu with the consistency of scrambled egg. Add vegan chicken flavored broth powder, turmeric, a pinch of poultry seasoning and saute it in a pan in a small amount of oil - toasted sesame oil is especially delicious; or make it buttery by using vegan butter. Just before serving, add a nice pinch of black salt (kala namak) for that unmistakable sulphery, eggy taste. You may need to experiment with the black salt to find the level you like. It is VERY salty, so use it sparingly until you get a feel for it. Cheese, sauteed veggies, mushrooms, soy bacon bits, whatever tidbits you like may also be added. You won't believe how well this duplicates the taste and texture of original scrambled eggs. Enjoy!

I absolutely loved this recipe video. Actually I love almost all your videos, you are definitely my favorite. I adore soft tofu over firm or extra firm. I'm hoping you will create more recipes for us using soft or medium tofu as it is primarily what I buy because I love the soft custardy texture of it. Tysm Rose!

Rose you should make a relaxation tape with the sounds of sauteing food and I guarantee you it probably would sell out because I love the sound of sauteing food (I'm sure I'm not the only one!) and P.S. that breakfast bowl looks awesome! 😋

Rose I love rice for breakfast. Before I went vegan I used to eat rice and eggs for breakfast almost every morning. I'm definitely going to try your tofu with brown rice. Thank you!

Also you can make these breakfast bowls with quinoa instead of rice! More protein and the flavors are amazing together.

For eggy taste I would recommend using black salt (Kala Namak). Saved my vegan life from missing the taste of egg!:)
