It's my recollection he maintained his innocence until he was on the phone with his wife who vented about how this was affecting her and the kids and Allen basically said get the kids and just leave and I'm gonna take all the heat so you can feel free to just get away from all of it.

If you call that letter a confession, then time to put on your thinking cap. That was letter was just two sentences that lacked detail. It was the kind of letter someone writes in exchange for something, such as food or protection.

At least three jurors appear to be intensely critical thinkers that see through everything. The prosecution is going to need something alot more convincing than this.

Everything about this case is off the wall, unorganized, and just plain ridiculous. How convenient for the police that the recordings were taped over. Who knows what kind of tactics they could have used to perhaps force the confession. Richard Allen also confessed to killing his family, in which were nonexistent or just made up, as well as many others. I want justice for Abby and Libby, but I don't want a possibly innocent but very disturbed man being railroaded.

Does he have cognizance to know that he confessed to a murder they already pegged him for? Who confesses to a murder they didn’t commit WHILE under suspicion?!

This is a definite cover up. Don’t ever believe confessions unless it’s in the court room. The police use extreme measures to coerce the suspect into confessing. They tell them what to write or feed them information so they know about the crime and then claim they are guilty because they know details only the killer would know. Too many innocent victims have been sent to prison just because the police want to convict someone but that is not justice. Treat them like an innocent person until they are found guilty by a court. Don’t lock them up in solitary confinement for months in a top security prison. This whole case stinks to high heaven. They know they don’t have anything on Allen but they are trying to fabricate evidence to fit him. They’re relying too heavily on the forced confessions of a broken man. There’s no DNA connecting him to the girls. The bullet is a red herring and could have come from any similar gun. The confessions are ridiculous and should be thrown out. Just like the sketches that don’t match him. The witnesses would have been able to identify Allen if he was the person they saw on the bridge. They were familiar with him yet none identified him. This is a travesty from start to finish.
