Combined with breathing it is a great way to release sadness, anxiety, etc.

This also releases back pain instantly, it does for me anyway. Try it, it is the most relaxing exercise ever. I also get up from a chair (when no one is looking) by bending over, touching the floor with my hands and unfurling my body into an upright standing position.
