Receiving the Holy Spirit

Receiving the Holy spirit is like receiving holy water, and when you speak in tongues you are releasing that water.

Speaking in Tongues is one of the most powerful gifts Jesus gave us to connect w Himself. I would have benefited from knowing this over 25 years ago when I was filled w His Spirit Please know and use this gift and please do not let anyone deceive you from minimizing it as it will open a door for Holy Spirit to show Himself strong in every part of your being

I remember as a young Catholic child singing to God privately in my bedroom and I noticed I was singing something I did not understand . I for some reason ran to my Sunday Mass prayer book and it opened immediately to the verse about the Holy Spirit falling in people and they spoke in different languages . I was so young I did not think I was speaking a different language. It was not until my years in college that I realized that must have been my experience. I still to this day pray or sing in that prayer language.

So interesting, because I went through the same experience. Last year, I experienced deliverance and reached out for the gifts. God said to me, “You already have it.” Just like a baby is born with hands and feet and develops the ability to walk step by step, so it is with speaking in tongues. That is my experience.🎉

The Bible says that ‘with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to His people’.
The night I received The Holy Ghost I heard myself worship in stammering lips.
As my prayer life deepened the tongues became fluent.

Idk if everyone would speak in tongues. Don't people have their own gifts and this may not be one they have?

speaking tongues depends on ones journey, and Lord's will and our effort too.

I did not know there are different types of tongues . Some tongues for private prayer language and not necessarily a distinct language known although that can happen.

When you say "receive the Holy Spirit", does that mean by baptism? Do I need to be baptized in order to speak in tongues?
