Thank you :) It is an advanced progression from the false grip muscle up so yes it is harder in that respect. The idea is to have no swing at all so that the momentum you’re relying on is only what is generated from the pull-up. Swinging muscle ups are the easiest and they don’t require a false grip.

Wooden rings generally give the nicest grip; especially wooden rings that have been heavily chalked. There are rings with rubber around them though the rubber can actually catch your skin when you want it to slide by, and generally make the rings too thick.

You don't always need chalk, it depends on what exercise you're doing. Infact you could generally get away without chalk (though I wouldn't recommend it) with everything except swings. Anything with a false grip generally requires chalk though if you were only doing push-ups, l-sits or dips, chalk wouldn't really be necessary - though it does help you have a more solid grip.

The slow pull-ups will not directly help with explosiveness (power) because power is fast utilization of strength. However, training weighted pull-ups will help to build the strength that will enable you to efficiently train explosive (bodyweight) pull-ups. When training for power you want to pull-up as fast and as high as possible, you can aim to take your hands off the bar for a moment or clap at the top.

Muscle-up looks good. Next step is to take the swing away and move it
to the rings ;)

Do you always put chalk when you're using rings? Do you have a better grip on wood, metal, plastic, or bullet proof/riot shield material (that's what the EXF rings are made of in the description.) I prefer rings where I don't have to "chalk up".
