I’m obsessed with watching videos on how to learn a language (rather than putting in the time to learn the actual language lmao) so IM SO HERE FOR THIS

"Ich bin Jade" is actually grammatically correct! It may be a bit more colloquial than "Ich heiße Jade" (and I think that might be the reason why your teacher wanted you to use that), but it is certainly not wrong! Btw, your pronunciation is 'wirklich sehr gut'! Mach weiter so, ich liebe deine Videos ✨ edit: I just watched the entire video and wow, your German at the end of the video is so incredibly good, i am blown away! German is such a hard language and the fact that you have been learning German for just a month makes this even more incredible!

“Jeremias” and “Annenmaykantereit” are great German indie bands, I can really recommend them :)

You can actually say “Ich bin Jade” so dont worry haha its just the same way english teachers want us to say “My name is Phil” instead of “I’m Phil”

7:06 when your brother said "sehr gut", he sounded 100% German, not even the trace of an accent! I'm impressed!

I am German and I actually do introduce myself saying "ich bin Maren" - it's not totally grammatical but we do say it in daily conversation! My tip: start reading children's books in German. That way you internalise the grammar, expand your vocabulary and get to know the culture! My faves growing up: Tintenherz, Die unendliche Geschichte, Die wilden Hühner und Lucian.

Hey Jade!
I am German and it's quite cool to see someone learning German as I can imagine how hard it must be. I don't know if you like that kind of music but I really like the German band 'AnnenMayKantereit' as well as 'Provinz' or 'JEREMIAS'.
Can't wait to follow your further yourney x

Little tips just so that you know what to focus on:
Und ich liebe zu reisen (10:59) - the word order was incorrect
Aber ich bin auch selbstendich (11:06) - the word order was incorrect
Weil ich ein Youtube Channel (11:11) - with 'weil', the verb goes at the end
Die Bücher (11:35) - always with plural words it is 'die'
Und ich liebe Leute zu helfen (11:44) - The verb goes at the end

Otherwise, everything was awesome. By the way, I love your videos and I hope to see another of these speaking in German videos hahaha.

Don‘t worry about your german introduction. I (german) and so many other germans introduce themselves with :“hallo, ich bin....“

Watching as a German who loves to learn languages, too! It's just so interesting seeing people learn German and find out what they struggle with the most, but you're doing so so well! Spoke so clearly and could understand everything so easily. Especially cute was the part where you said "Kann ich einen Muffin haben?" and as the other person "Joaaar (yeah), kann es noch was sein?"

Ich komme aus Brasilien und lebe in Deutschland seit einem Jahr. Mein Englisch hat sich sehr verbessert, seit ich hier bin und natürlich mein Deutsch auch. Es ist schön, dass ich alles verstanden habe, was du gesagt hast. Auf Englisch und auf Deutsch! 😍

So motivating to see you learn German successfully! I've loved my German, English and Latin classes at school, I've learned a bit of Russian at home but only recently I realized much I thrive when learning new languages so I've enrolled in an intensive Spanish class (2 hours / 4 times per week) even though it's my first real exam season (finishing school here) and I'm loving it! Thank you for giving me some additional inspiration through showing your progress <3
