I absolutely freaking love reverse nordic curls and the stretch feels so good. I've seen actual growth in my quads from doing these instead of extensions even tho I'm using way lower volume.

I've been modifying my leg extensions by 1) adding a balance pad in between my tibia and the leg extension pad so the weight doesn't bottom out during the lengthening phase, and 2) doing lengthened partials. These have been annihilating my quads and I feel they might be a bit better than sissy squats due to better stability since its a machine.

I’ve done these for a few weeks now and they totally make my quads more sore than any other quad exercise. The stretch is awesome. Thanks!

What do you think of pendulum sissy squats. You can scale them if they normal version is too hard and there are a lot more stable and easier to standardize. Alex leonidas has a entire video on them.

Is it still possible to get good development from the leg extension? Sissy squats look mad awkward. Is that a piece of equipment that helps with sissy squat technique?

If doing hack squat or leg press dr. Mike stile with lifting shoe, then knee flex ±140-150° but hip flex 90°, so rectus femoris flex 50-60°, not ideal, but the rectus femoris is not aesthetic and does not help in the squat and deadlift, then I do not neither leg extension, neither sissy squat or nordic extension

I was under the impession that the leg extension (compared to hack squat, smith squat, or other variations of squats) still provided better stimulation to the Rec Fem, despite training the quads in a shortened position. Would something like sissy squats still provide this rec fem stimulus in the way leg extensions do? Or am I mistaken and overcomplicating it?

What do you think of Charles Poliquin concept:

A combination of work in a short range of motion for increased blood flow in cases of injuries,

Or to speed up recovery between workouts,

Or to warm up better and then work in a full range of motion?

I tried the reserve nordic curl several times now but I can't seem to load my quads properly. It hurt my lower back so I had to engage my abs more to prevent overextending my lower back. Also, even if I do 20 rep sets, I only get a minor pump in my quads on the upper lateral side.

Ive started incorporating them recently. I'm holdong a plate on my chest to make them more challenging - not sure if it works the way im intending it but it is more challenging. For leg extensions, would lying backwards instead of seated help making them more challenging and longer muscle lengths? Thanks!

Wait. Would this still be a problem if it's just going to be an accessory exercise, with the main lift being quads?

Will I not optimally train the rectus femoris with this exercise?
