What a weird game this one is, yet I found myself extremely immersed and dove in to Risk of Rain 2's hellish planet for dozens of hours. It doesn't have a traditional story to play through, but instead every time you die you're back to the start and your journey will never be the same. Along this repeating experience of death the world and its origin are carefully revealed, all while increasing the dread that survival is only for the moment. "We Evolve" was born of that desperation, and the thrilling feeling of staying alive against the impossible.

Aviators making a RoR2 song was not something I knew I needed

As someone who put over 2000 hours into Risk of Rain 2, I can't believe I didn't realize this song was inspired by it. If I had listened to it a couple of times, fully, I would have noticed the vibes from the instruments and the lyrics. I can play this song on repeat while playing Risk of Rain 2 and the music doesn't feel off at all, it feels like it was made for it.

Nice work. The note of the music really blends well with the scenery. I had one point where I suddenly realized there hadn't been any lyrics for a while, just instrumental that fit the scenes.

I'm convinced that you would be able to remix this song along with "They'll never find us".
Both songs have a very similar vibe to it, at least for me that is.

I actually don't know anything about Risk of Rain, but this has been my favorite track on this album since I first heard it several months ago. I think it's because it has the moody Lovecraftian vibe about barely-knowable alien terrors, but the line "our nightmares will evolve
- and so must we" strikes a very different tone. Humanity may have a very small place in the universe, but it was built to adapt and overcome challenges, and it has been very successful in that regard. The alien horrors may be insurmountable, but they might not be, and it is at the core of our nature to change however is necessary to overcome and survive.

Not knowing the original inspiration, I got a "apocalyptic war with aliens that humanity is slowly starting to win" vibe from it.
