This restaurant was definitely up there in one of the worst meals I've had.
They also tacked on a service fee which not a lot of places in Japan do, and if they do the staff is supposed to tell you upfront.

A mandatory appetizer isn't a rare thing to see in Isakayas. it's meant to be a seating fee and to provide people something to snack on until your order arrives. But this one here is way too pricey and is a scam.

$50 is insane in Japan for most places. You can eat for pennies in stores.
You'd think they'd try and treat the few customers they have good. But probably don't care.

The appetizer was 520 yen, which is 3.5 usd. Pricey compared to other izakayas, but it’s not 5 bucks

50 dollars!? Thank god i have a kitchen in home to make pretty much any meal for 4 to 5 bucks. Being forced to eat out like she is is absolutely wild to me. How much more time do the japanese have to work just to afford food?
