COOKING WITH GRANNY/SOUTHERN COOKING

In this video I’m back in the kitchen with my Granny. She is showing us how to make pin wheel dumplings. For the dumplings you will need the following ingredients:

1 1/2 cup of White Lily Self Rising flour
1/2 cup of milk
1 stick butter; melted
3 tablespoons of shortening
Shredded cheddar cheese

Mix flour, shortening, and milk. Use enough flour to make a stiff dough. Place on a bed of flour and roll out about 6.5 inches. Spread butter and then sprinkle layer of shredded cheddar cheese. Roll and cut out pin wheels. Repeat until you have used up all the ingredients. Place pinwheels on a Saran wrapped covered cookie sheet. Add an additional layer of Saran Wrap over the top and freeze.

Alright granny im gonna this one! I am a 30 yr old girl born and raised in south ms with a lot of cajun influence. My grandma taught me everything i know and is the inspiration for alot of dishes i make in Cali. My grandma told me if i didnt know how to make a proper seafood gumbo by 15 i wasmt gettin a man. I been with my hubs since we was 15. My hubs calls me the rou master. He is always super confident and happy to people my wife will cook you under this table.

Kind of like a chicken pot pie, what a great idea, you could add some veggies to it to make it more like a pot pie, I think some corn, carrots would be good in it but love watching you can learn so much from our grandma's and mom's, I think I learned way more from my mom then I ever learned from all the years of cooking school.

I am so blessed to still have my 80 year old Momma, and her oldest sister that’s 87, along with 2 more sisters up in age, and an uncle. We are a very big family that still gets together for every holiday, very close. I’m so blessed to have a Godly Family. We all still get together, and cook, sing. I soak up every memory I have with my Momma, and Aunts when we cook together, because we never know when it’s the last🙏🏻❤️ Your Granny is precious, I sure miss mine, but she’s shouting in Heaven😊I have enjoyed watching you 2 together sweet lady😘💕🥰🙏🏻

Love your Granny, miss my Granny shes been gone about 50 years but I remember her making dumplings. I have her old wooden bread bowl that my grand daddy carved out of a poplar tree. Its about 100 years old. I wouldn't take anything for it. Love the video
