That bickering reminds me of the time I got allowed into the kitchen in Italy as an 17 year old boy. I couldn’t speak any Italian and only understand a few words, but that wooden spoon hitting my head and hands sure made it clear how I was supposed to make the pasta. Learned a lot that day, it was great fun and just about the best pasta I ever tasted.

Those are my roots. Cooking together, preparing the pasta with hands, fighting each other in dialect...I grow up with all those things. For 8 minutes I went back to my summers in Sicily when I was 12 years old and I was cooking with my grandma and my aunts. Those times will never come back, they all live in my memories. I must admit that I cried, a lot. Thank you for these videos, they warm my heart.
