An unprecedented number of Americans quit their jobs in September, highlighting how persistent churn is undercutting employers’ efforts to fill a near-record level of vacancies.

A record 4.4 million Americans quit their jobs in September, according to the Labor Department’s Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey. Meanwhile, the number of available positions eased to 10.4 million. Incentivized by record wage gains and other attractive terms offered by employers desperate for talent, Americans are leaving their jobs in droves. That’s made it even more challenging for employers to fill positions while also driving up compensation and inflation.

These talking heads want to avoid talking about: RAISES UP TO THE NEW MARKET RATE. That's the easiest way to retain your workers. Market rate is now hugely different so get your employees up there or risk losing em. They really don't want to acknowledge the new market rate because it takes away from their bottom line, but ultimately they will keep losing workers the longer they ignore it. Pathetic.

We have no shared sense of purpose because capitalism is about exploiting employees. If a company's purpose is making a profit then they better share the benefits of that profit with their employees in a significant way if they want them to stick around. That is why everyone is resigning. We don't share any purpose or benefit with the companies we work for. Plus we all figured out the #1 corporate trick. The person who cares the least in a relationship has the most power. So, we share no sense of purpose and now we don't care about the company either. We care less than you do about corporate America. Great job meritocracy!
