I am a native to a very rural area of Washington. If you are traveling on a budget, we have some really awesome state and local parks that don’t cost a lot of money to visit and you can still get relaxing time with your families in areas that give you a taste of the Northwest. If you were traveling on a budget, I highly recommend asking people who live in the areas you are visiting about state parks in the area. They’re all over from the Puget Sound, to Spokane. When in doubt, always ask a local! Please remember to take care of the places you visit by packing out your trash, cleaning up after dogs, and respecting burn bans. We love our home state and want to keep it beautiful for our children and wildlife.

I grew up in Vancouver WA, not Canada, and there are so many great places to visit there and a stones throw away. It sits on the stunning Columbia gorge, has its own significant history and on a clear day you can see four snow capped mountains, Hood, Adams, St Helens and Rainier( cuz it’s so massive). WA has three stunning national parks and Mt St Helens is just down the road from where I grew up in Vancouver. Can’t recommend it enough. Not just the visitors center but the road through Cougar, WA by the reservoir and up to Meta Lake. The road practically takes you to the peak of the mountain. It’s well worth the drive when the forest roads are open.

The North Cascades is absolutely breathtaking. it's unique in that you can experience so much of the natural splendor right from your car, or within just a short walk after parking.
Like the North Cascades, Olympic National Park is a panacea of nature. From Hurricane Ridge (not "Hurricane Pass") to the Hoh Rain Forest, the scenery is spectacular. As a native to the area, and being just a few minutes from Hurricane Ridge, I am still completely in awe when I walk the trail to the high ridge. It makes you realize just how small you are as you look thousands of feet down to the Strait of Juan de Fuca below. When my sister-in-law visited from the east coast, we took her to the Hoh Rainforest. At one point we lost her and doubled back. We found her laying on her back, looking up into the canopy, mesmerized by the wonder of nature.

North Cascades is probably the most underrated national park in the country. Its alpine scenery is mind blowingly beautiful. It gets overshadowed by Mt Rainier and Olympic, but I've been to all 3 and North Cascades is still my favorite.

Although what you showed is special, being a native Washingtonian, I was also waiting for Beacon Rock and the Columbia River Gorge...or even just the Columbia River itself, from the dry parts of Washington State to the Pacific Ocean. I live in Europe, but send people to WA State all the time. You have practically every climate there - from arid desert to rainforest, flat land to mountains to ocean. Douglas fir, Western Hemlock and Redcedar, plus many vine maples abound in the west - pines, junipers and sage brushes east. LOVE WA State!

One other tourist attraction of Snoqualmie Falls is a railroad museum and a train ride they offer - the tracks are laid on the edge of the mountain from which you can see the waterfall from above. Pretty cool.

i cant describe the emotion that the north wertern coast gives me, it gives me some some chill vibes and an impression of "no need to keep moving on on civilization"

Finally, a list in which I can say I have been to a majority of the places (the San Juan Islands is the only one I have not visited). There are so many beautiful places in the state of Pacific Northwest, you just can't get enough of them.

Washington State is Mother Nature on steroids. Truly Mother Nature's miracle. A Seattle visit was a must for me every month, but crime and homeless tents are invading the city, and like Portland, nothing is being done. Many stores that I loved are boarded up in the heart of the city.
I'd say, skip Seattle, visit the fishing towns instead and visit our parks.
Cheers all.

I wish one day all of us who are watching and dreaming about traveling can actually travel more to learn about different cultures and end hate in this loving journey of life.

The Best State in the Union in my opinion! :)

A few more must see places....
*Dry Falls, was 10x larger than Niagara Falls.
*Grand Coulee Dam... was the largest in the world at one time.
*Artist Point at Mt. Baker and the hiking trails
*Scenic Chuckanut Drive near Bellingham
*Deception Pass State Park and the Bridge

Cheers from Lynden, WA

I actually live not far from Palouse falls and i do think it is really cool, but what i like the most is the high desert area around Washtucna Washington that is full of farmland and jagged rocky cliffs. I have lived in this area for 3 years now and I still love it.
