Why Finland Joining NATO Destroys PUTIN

During the Cold War, neutral Finland had to toe the line with Russia, fearful of reprisal and repression. It will do so no longer. Now bolstered by its Western Allies, Finland offers undeniable physical, material, and technological benefits to NATO.

And that should scare Putin.

It’s unclear whether Russia has the strategic or economic bandwidth to adequately deal with the security complications posed by Finland’s NATO membership. Now Russia will have to make a choice on how to engage in the Baltic-Arctic region.

Finland is the only country that paid the USA back in full for its assistance during WWII ….. they also paid back, in full, for a food loan in 1919. I have a lot of respect for the Finnish people, as I was married to one.

As a Finn. We never fell asleep like so many others. We have been warning about Russias need for conquest for decades, mostly to deaf ears. However we were mostly against NATO before Russian invasion of Ukraine. Polls showed like 40% support (against nearly 80% since the invasion) for joinin NATO, and it was discussed every now and then. In anycase I'm happy we are here. Also the Finnish armed forces have been proven to be amazing in training. For example some US's Airborne Assault specops were "taken out" by a bunch of cooks - pretty literally - thanks for being to well camouflaged that the assailants didn't even know they were there. We have honed our doctrine in military specifically against certain eastern neighbor and also utilizing our limited resources to the best possible effect. Our artillery is literally feared by many - not only because of it's size, but it's immense accuracy (unlike some Russian artillery that simply levels city after city after city...) our artillery takes pride on hitting the mark exactly - and fast.

I hope that we never have to actually use it, but Russia would have been in huge trouble against us before NATO. After NATO? They wouldn't have any chance in hell. At all.

As an American, I am extremely proud of Finland and their willingness to join NATO. Due to this alliance, NATO is literally only a stones throw away from ST. Petersburg and Moscow. This strategic positioning gives a huge defensive advantage to NATO. Also, it guarantees thar Russia will never attempt to invade Fineland, a country with 30 allies. Hopefully, Sweden, and eventually Ukraine, will follow in the near future.

The WWII/pre WWII maps are all post war, and do not show what really happened. Some important errrors: Finland had a coast line to the Barents sea and Norway did not border Russia. Most of Karelia was Finnish. And a large chunk of Poland was occupied and later annexted by USSR, in agreement with Germany (who also was a far larger country than the map suggests). Oh, yes, and the Baltic states were independent nations before being annexed by the USSR juggernaut.
