My older brother served in the US army for 30 years. He told me one time when he got back from overseas, that the Finnish soldiers were some of the most ruthless warriors he served around. They were always down for a fight.

Whenever they got intel on an enemy position, they were gearing up first out of everyone and were just waiting for the green light.

4:06 please note At the start of hostilities between the Soviet Union and Finland, Finland had a grand total of 32 tanks. The Soviet Union between ~2500 and ~6500.

I'm doubtful Finland will relax conscription, it's shown to be effective at training large swathes of citizens that will be ready and willing to stand up and fight for their country.

Go Finland !!! They played the long game, and they didn't go for the easy, short win. Impressed with their ability to hang on to democratic values so close to Russia. Much love and respect to Finland! Their sacrifices over the last century are now being rewarded. The future looks bright.

I’m a pacifist, and believe in doing all that is possible to avoid war.

I am also a trained officer and a skilled killer. Should the war come, I will be on the front lines, doing my best to destroy the enemy, and to bring back peace. I see no conflict whatsoever in these attitudes.

My grandfather fought in the Winter War. I would take his medal for bravery with me and try to make him proud.

Hopefully I won’t have to.
