So shingles is caused by a type of virus called Human Herpes Virus 3 which also causes chickenpox. Chickenpox is a generalized infection which involves the whole body causes fever etc. whereas shingles is restricted to one dermatome. Dermatome is an area of skin that is supplied by a single nerve. So chickenpox will affect either one of the thoracic nerves, one of the lumbar nerves. These are nerves that come out of the spine. So the rashes of the chickenpox affects the skin which involves that particular nerve. So usually the distribution of these rashes gives us an idea about shingles. Off late we are having vaccines for shingles as well. So chickenpox vaccines were available earlier now we have seen that shingles can occur even in those who are vaccinated with chickenpox. So we have separate booster process called shingles vaccines available to prevent shingles as well. So shingles are seen when the body's immunity comes down so it might be during a very stressful period, it might be in old age or it might be due to other infections like diabetes and HIV which can reduce the immunity. Sometimes shingles can spread to the entire body in immunocompromised people. Immunocompromised people are those whose immunities are completely destroyed like HIV patients or cancer patients. I got this. Have never seen it on anyone before. the pain is unbearable since the nerves are affected.
Start the treatment very early, antivirals very important. I have no illness, normal healthy person, so anyone who had chicken pox in childhood can get this.
Still having pain, eating just curd, fruits(banana, butter fruit, muskmelon) and lots of water. Keep yourself clean, take bath in mild soap, air dry the rashes, don't wipe them ever!
Ask your doctor for nerve related tablets
Dont stress, relax in cooling place always, under a fan or AC
Keep yourself away from kids and elderly people since you can transmit the virus
The rashes should crust on their own. the pain is more than itching( sometime no itching also)
Burning and stabbing pain will be for long if you dont start the treatment early

Wow, watching the rash starting to recede within three days and completely vanish within fifteen did it for me, I just used what I talked about and although it actually took 20 days, I barely feel the pain anymore.
