Every time i watch this scene, I say, 'This time, this time he'll make it" and I know one day, he will

You know that all these scenes weren't in the original script, McQueen got drunk one night and said he'd quit if he didn't get to have some fun on a motorbike. But thank god they're there, can't imagine the film without them...

This is the single greatest scene ever filmed. A huge star filming a very risky stunt. The cinematography is beautiful. Thanks Steve McQueen.

Who could ever forget Steve McQueen on the motor bike? One of the greatest all time scenes ever made! Love it.

McQueen even played the soldier who hits the wire. That's how much he loved and could ride motorcycles.

Unbelievable motorcycle skills. That jump is incredible, especially on an old bike like that. No helmet?!? No CGI?!? It looks like they even used real barbed wire. McQueen is the GOAT!

I love how he taps the tank of the bike when he's caught, as if to say (you did good) absolute classic!

The shake of the gas tank . . . only someone who REALLY knows how to ride an old-school motorcycle knows to do that: love that detail!

Pats the gas tank like it was his horse. You could even say that the gasoline was like blood as it ran out and soaked his leg at the end.

Always loved how Steve gives the Triumph a pat after the crash as if to say, "It's not your fault, we almost made it."

Bernstein's music for the chase scene is perfect.

My 7th grade teacher was a POW in Germany. He told us about when the American tanks rolled into his prison camp. He had no problem talking about his war experience and even taught a class on WW2.
