2024 Steve McQueen Great Escape Re-enactment

Was at a Car Show and WAR broke out! The Boys Republic in Chino Hills is the most peaceful place to hold a car show, and boy - do they put on a show! Given The Great Escape movie theme (reprised from 2013) naturally lends itself to creative treatment. The 82nd Airborne 505th Historical Regimental Combat Team returned for a 2024 version reenactment of their 2013 reenactment: "Liberation of Stalag Luft III."

An appreciative crowd lined a "movie set" built in the field complete with wire fencing, two guard towers, and spoiler alert - a motorcycle jump. Add in live actors - German and American, guns, motorcycles - and a real American tank (shooting real loud blanks) at the towers, blowing one up while rescuing the POWs.

All this at a car show?! Yes.
