Steve McQueen's 'The Great escape' motorcycle scenes

Показать описание
The main scenes of Steve, riding his modified Triumph TR6 Trophy. The scenes include the 12 ft jump over the barbed wire fence, although it was performed by stuntman, Bud Ekins.
After the film, the bike was sold to a farmer, who used it to herd cows, but it was then stored in a barn for decades. Recently it was bought and restored.

At 2:30 you can see the mountain "Säuling" and castle "Neu-Schwanstein" in the background. Some of the barns seen during the chase are still standing to this very day.

I can see why in “The Great Escape” PC game they corrected it to Hilts crossing the wire and to freedom (I’m sure we all wanted *that* ending).

Of course in real History there was no motorbike chase it all happened in winter and the actual escape was far different.

I was 7 years old when Ernie took me to the movies to see this and I knew right then and there I was going to have a throttle😊

Henry Winkler tried saying that this bike was the same triumph he rode on Happy Days! Sorry Henry, that's a delusion, just like the Fonz. Couldn't even ride a REAL Harley!
