Matte Paint Care - Easier Than You Might Think!

Показать описание
Just a quick video showing that caring for a matte finish is not difficult or fraught with danger like some of the myths getting around would have you believe.
Just follow a few basic rules and you'll be fine.
Always use a product approved for matte paint, something without silicone or fillers. Never use anything that promotes a high gloss finish as these contain fillers etc. I use Dr Beasley's Matte Care Kit which is specifically for matte finishes.
Always use good, soft microfibre cloths and a microfibre covered sponge or mitt, these are very gentle on the paintwork.
Never scrub, if a mark is being stubborn, use the paint cleanser and let it soak in then gently wipe. I've heard alcohol based cleaners are also good for spot cleaning but can't comment as I haven't personally tried them.
Regularly turn your cloths and rinse your sponge/mitt to ensure no debris is caught up.
Don't be tempted to try to rub a spot away with your finger, use the cleanser! I carry the spot cleaner in my boot so I'm always prepared.
Never use wax or polish, EVER. Matte finishes don't require these. You should use a sealant once every 6 months (or more if you live in harsh conditions). Dr Beasley's has this and it is applied to a wet car then lightly wiped over, no elbow grease required.
Don't go through car washes, those slappy brushes will damage the paint.
It's just as tough as a gloss finish but does require different care, not more difficult, just different.
If you're considering a matte paint finish I can assure you that you will be happy!
