Integrated Graphics INSTEAD of a graphics card?! 🙄

"Integrated graphics is good enough if you just need a pc to be usable"

APU's are in my opinion enough if you only play minecraft and similarly demanding games. I started on an old ThinkPad with an apu, which was enough for the games I played at the time

I have to agree man. While I'm certainly impressed with how far these integrated chips have come, most of them still can't compete with a decent dedicated graphics card. It will be interesting to see if this changes in the future though.

APU units like this are stellar at what they are designed for. They are not designed to compete with the shown water cooled GPU+CPU machine that eats over five times the power on a board with a zillion PCIe lanes and a 1440p display. They're not even built with four RAM slots in mind.

They are designed to be used in builds where power consumption, size, or weight are a factor.

Apus are great for smaller pcs, handhelds, and low power pcs. I believe these apus are a great low end option for gaming.

Nah used to run with a APU during Uni, was able to handle what it needed in terms of Uni work, and i could also play some of my fav games at the time, The forest, League, csgo. Theyre a great option for people with busy lives who enjoys some specific games during their downtime and who travel alot.

They're also good if you're on a budget, but want to game right away, these new APUs will get you by and will make a great CPU for whatever gpu you're saving up for.

Use integrated graphics for small pc tasks like wallpaper engine, windows background processes so the dedicated graphics is used for gaming and other intensive applications

I think it's a great option for playing older titles even if you do have a dedicated GPU, specially if you want to save some power or don't want your PC heating up too much.

APUs can definitely be upped to Console specs alone without a Discreet GPU,

Both PS5 and Xbox series X performs like a GTX 1080 if it was OS unlocked.
Until I see an APU use More System RAM to increase performance, then that's going to be a huge game changer

I used integrated graphics for a month before my 4080 arrived, and it was fine for things like Minecraft, and some other titles, on decently high settings. It was pretty ok

and different use cases may warrant an igpu to be needed, such as an actual gpu shortage or your gpu fail to work or even trying to cut costs and get gpu at a later point(if they have money to get one)

Last year i got myselfe a Laptop for 200€ with Ryzen 3 5300u. The Vega inside in it is insane when you have experienced the old Intel GMA times thats insane.

Even tho its a Mobile CPU for Budget Laptops it runs games decently well.

If in the next 2-3 years if igpus have a higher performance than the rx 6600 and are the same price, thats the day igpus become a decent option
