In one run, I walked from the frozen shores back to civilization overnight, and just when I arrived at dawn at the foggy farms on the outskirts of Windhelm, this theme came in - that's when I first noticed it for real. I stood there, looked around misty-eyed, and realized once again what a beautiful game this is.

The part at 1:41 honestly makes me tear up. It's so powerful. Just the feeling of adventure and nostalgia washes over me hearing this.

After a really long time of searching, I've finally found the melody I hear in game. The melody at 1:40 to 2:00 has been stuck with me for weeks since I recently started Skyrim. As a huge medieval fantasy fan, that melody just sums up all the adventures of all the universes for me for some reason. Wow, Lotr, Skyrim etc. Like a reminicent of a battle theme transposed into a final requiem. It's a shame that it lasts quite short. What a fucking masterpiece, searching days well spent.

I was reading the prologue from "A Dance with Dragons", when it explains how the death gets to the wargs ... how when they die, they're start to be part of all that exists: earth, leaves, birds, wind, ... reading that part and with this OST was one of the strongest feelings I've experienced with any kind of media... And I learn english only to write this!

I can imagine moving slowly over calm landscapes; then at 1:41 time almost seems to speed up.

The clouds begin to cover the sun. Winds ripple the branches of trees. Faint waves of rain cascade and dance in the air.

A sombre sadness, gives way to feelings of resentment, desire for revenge...
...and then all goes quiet.

What I imagine with this song is a small cabin in the reach, old retired adventurer living with his son, idling away the days on the fortune he made in his younger days, as the music swells the old adventurer comes back to his hut to find it burned down by bandits, his son is missing, but not dead, as there's no body. When the music rises from its lowest point, the adventurer heaves a deep sigh and goes to his shed and dons his armor and sword. Looks like his days of adventuring aren't over quite yet. As the music fades out, he follows the obvious trail left by the raiders, hand on his sword, as he walks off into the distance to save his grandchild.

I went to the dentist today and as a sat there alone in the operating room chair, this song was playing in his office. It’s like the best Skyrim song and I’ve totally overlooked it until now.

Finally found this one! It's easily my favourite melody in the entire soundtrack together with Ancient Stones and Wind Guide You. The atmosphere in this one is just magical, it conjures up grand mountainous nature vistas before your mind's eye so well.

I feel a strange kind of pride when i'm listening to skyrim masterpieces .... it's like i'm proud i've appreciated this, or maybe proud that i have witnessed it ?? Maybe that's what a masterpiece should make you feel like ?
