It's a mental toughness and leadership thing with the Phillies. They go into extended batting slumps and Rob says it's part of the game. No plate discipline, can't start late inning rallies, etc.

The Phillies got a big hole in the 4, 5, 6 batting order and it doesn't help that JT hits like an average catcher in the back of the order now. Phillies need to do something to strengthen & bring consistency to the middle of the order. A healthy Mike Trout or Vlad Jr may be what this team needs. Braves will be very good next year and I expect The Mets to compete. I doubt they win the division next year with the lineup as currently stands.

How the Mets have better odds is beyond me. Absolutely ridiculous. Oddsmakers are usually better than this. They got on guy and lost others. They are not even close to the Phillies right now.

The Phillies as of right now are in purgatory. They're not bad enough to go to hell, but they're not good enough to go to heaven and reach their ultimate goal. Unless something magical happens this season it will literally be the same thing that happened last season or the season before. We don't have the hitting to go up against teams like the Dodgers or the Padres or the Mets or even the braids in a seven game series if it came down to it. Yes, are pitching is good and the reason I'm not saying it's great is because Father time will catch up to Zach Wheeler and Aaron Nola eventually. I'm not saying that it's this season, but it will be coming. In order for us to be contenders and match the other teams we would have to have significant progression that we just haven't seen from players like Bryson Stott, Johan Rojas, and we would need the second half of the season Trea Turner that we got a couple years ago, but when it matters the most. Now im not saying they all can't do that, but it's very unlikely. The other thing that people seem to just be blind about is our bullpen is not good and it doesn't look good right now. We are praying and hoping that at least three or four guys that we signed who have injury history will be able to stay healthy when they haven't shown that they will. That is quite literally the definition of insanity and at least one of them will get injured based off of previous seasons.

Dave D. And a Rob Thomson need to retire and Preston Mattingley needs to be president of Baseball operations. Once Preston takes over the team he will re work contracts and cut the old players we have and we will be the dodgers of the East coast. As long as Dave and Rob are here the Phillies will be just good enough to make the playoffs
