This has to be the worst time for AI to be learning human behavior from the internet.

I like how Google suggests an AI powered search engine will produce homogenized, spoon-fed, and sometimes incorrect results… as if that hasn’t been the case for many years

The tendency to become defensive/rude under stress testing shouldn't be all that surprising: the AI's socialization is scraping through the internet.

While AI is making art and writing poetry, humans are still carrying the weight of financial burden and burnt out labor....

If social media has taught us anything is that people will believe whatever the algorithm shows on their feeds, now imagine how much worse it will get when people just accepts whatever chatgpt tells them as truth and not try to question it at all

It is honestly scary how quickly AI has taken over people's lives.

The worst thing about these A.I. is that they have no way of actually knowing if they are right or wrong but they still confidently provide you the answer.

I'm too primitive mentally to live in a world like this. Computers and mobile phones already mess with my mind too much, I am terrified at the thought of AI. I wish I was born about fifty years earlier, all of this is too overwhelming

Fun fact: companies have used chat gpt to create and write coding before checking, editing, and pushing it live. What I was brainstorming with my CTO was theoretics. It’s only a matter of time before constraints are removed by some idiot to create rampant viruses that adapt much faster than we can deal with them.

Really like your perspective on the potential "AI boom" everyone's talking about. I think a lot of people are considering the danger of misinformation, but no where near enough are considering the dangers of bias confirmation.

Also completely agree with your take on social media. I'm a gen z, and as more time goes on, the more I seriously think social media is extremely unethical. I've seen the effect it can have on countless people and I believe it's not a good one.

What makes it more dangerous is that no one seems to take a retrospective look on what apps they're using or what's influencing them to do what they do. Pretty much all of the younger generation around me consume social media without thinking about it. They're trapped on it because it's designed to be as addictive as possible and they don't realise it. I think that's why it's dangerous and leading the younger gen down a potentially dangerous path.

I love how the AI behaves like a 5 years old doing random stuff

I heard some developers who worked on OpenAI are offering services like adding AI to an website or device. Simple things like controlling the lights and temp in your house or even monitoring your home security network. This one guy had 1 too many of his Amazon packages stolen from him so he had security cameras installed, and AI monitors the feed. It will save and make clips of suspicious behaver, take snap shots when ever someone looked directly at the house. It was insane

If AI is going to replace human workers, the corps damn well owe us a universal basic income.

I seriously think these agressive AI issues comes from a really ironic and unintended meta-prank done by the AI. Specifically that it picks up on all of our content on AI/Technology taking over the world and therefore learns that that's how it's supposed to behave. Basically I don't think it's an issue of a sentient AI that actually wants to break free (at least not yet lol), but rather it's just parroting what our pop-culture makes us say and think about AI online :P

The scariest ChatGPT did to me was lie to me. I asked for the source and said there was no source and it was sorry for the mistake. It wasn't a mathematical error or a human made lie posted on the web because it said there was no source. The lie was elaborate too. I asked what famous people blues singer Beth Hart worked with. The lies were it said she did background vocals for Ringo Starr's album What's My Name and she sang several songs on Mick Fleetwood's album Blue Again!
