OK. This is my favorite video you’ve done, lol! Yesterday, my mom and I were discussing how to budget without developing a scarcity mindset. And for me, I decide what matters most to me, and create my budget around that. I personally love having a signature purse, a signature perfume, and because I’ve finally gotten my skin issues under control, I don’t mind investing in more expensive skin care because I am not going to risk disrupting what works and ending up back at the dermatologist. I’ve also tried saving money dying my own hair, but it bleeds onto my pillow case for weeks, and I just don’t carry myself the same way as I do when I get it professionally done. So yep, haircare and all that takes precedent over certain groceries I used to buy for my fantasy self that I ended up throwing out. 😂 Plus, I prefer having one nice bag and a few nice pieces in my wardrobe that last and make me feel good as opposed to lots of, well, Amazon or Target clothes that are fun but typically end up being what I declutter first. So cost per wear is kind of my motto. Of course, if I can find a product that’s less expensive and just as good, I’ll switch! But I love taking whatever I didn’t use from my grocery or other line item and being able to put it toward something that I value. Oh, and your purse is the same as my mom’s LV, and I asked her how long she had it, and she said 10 years—and it’s still going strong! So I’d take a classic piece like that over 100 purses any way. (And that doesn’t mean there aren’t less expensive quality things out there…but I’m just saying for me personally, when she asks me to hold her purse, I don’t mind it because something about it makes me stand a little taller.) I also have one piece of fine jewelry that I wear every single day because I like when people have that signature thing that pops into your head when you think of them: mine was a gift from my mom where she had my gold ID bracelet from when I was a baby made into one that fits my wrist now. I love sentimental things like that. Like when I used to miss my mom when she was at work, I’d go smell her robe because it had her scent on it…stuff like that. Anyhow, loved this video!!! ❤❤❤

Not opposed to spending more to get a high-quality product. But so many people buy gaudy designer / luxury goods just to show off. Something contrary about me doesn't want to be lumped in with those shallow consumer zombies. I'm aspiring to be a "wealth is silent" kinda gal. 🤫💰

Long ago I learned that if you budget for whatever you want to spend, it is affordable. One person's luxury is another person's necessity and who am I to judge. I have completed all of the baby steps and have reached the everyday millionaire stage and continue to be judicious about spending. I love what I buy but by no means do I buy everything and anything in sight - I choose what I buy and live satisfied.

I can get behind all of these! Plus that pregnancy perfume tip is so lovely!

Hit 100k today. Thank you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last months. Started with 8k in June 2022

I consider our local CSA box a luxury item. Fresh and organic fruit and veggies are super important to my family!

Really good bedding. Mattress, down pillows, down comforter especially. Nothing gives you more value than a good, full night's sleep.

I agreed with all of these. I’ve had my Louis Vuitton, a gift from my husband for our anniversary, since 2016 and use it every day still.

Thank you for being honest! In this video you shared another side of you and explained that it’s realistic to be financially responsible and occasionally splurge on something. Good to see that you do enjoy luxury sometimes.

Definitely quality sheets and bath towels. Anything against my skin has to feel great.

i really agree with the sunscreen I had skin cancer on my eyelid. I had to have 2/3's of my bottom eyelid removed. thank god I had a good plastic surgeon to do it!!

I used to be cheap and buy cheap shirts and would have to replace every year. I “splurged” and got $40 Tshirts for my bday one year, and 6 years later they are still in like new shape. I learned a lesson lol

I agree with all of these and they will actually save you money in the long run due to their quality, I think. For me, I would add a monthly pedicure at a nail salon using Essie polish 😊. Great video 👍🏼

There are some luxury products I think that are totally worth that I like to spend on: High Quality Coffee and Cooking Oils from Homegoods! I got them on clearance at times. Stuff from BB&W like Wallflowers refills (I got them for $3.95 each) and products like body lotion and 3 in 1 soaps for men. I also use coupons for stuff like that!

Thanks for the sunscreen recommendation! I’m very particular about skin care and avoiding toxic chemicals

Actually Redken Volume Injections shampoo/conditioner (if you style your hair with heat afterwards) or Boston Pulp Riot (if airdry hair) are cheaper but give exactly same result as Keratase for thin or medium hair.

I have never even heard of the Golden Goose Sneakers. Had to loom them up. My mind was blown 😳 🤯 by the price people would pay for a shoes that looks worn/worn out already.

I'm actually really similar to Rachel! I don't care about the shampoo, and I have found reasonably priced good skincare, but I do love a beautiful designer bag (I buy one a year), good perfume and good shoes.
