How To Fade Acne Scars | PIE vs PIH

This is all about how to treat your skin so that you get less dreadful, red marks from our great skin antagonist, acne. And, how to make them disappear faster! I’m talking mainly about Post Inflammatory Erythema (P.I.E) in this video, which are the red marks that are the aftermath of inflammation. I have the type of sensitive skin that turns red upon touch and any inflammation including mosquito bites, will leave marks that last up to 8 months! The way my skin reacts post-acne has changed drastically over the past 2 years due to some changes in practice I’ve made as well as a focus on certain ingredients. I will share with you what I find works, and take you through some of my Do’s & Don’ts!
- I'm speaking of non-prescription, topical treatments. Although there are more effective ones by way of chemical peels and laser treatments too.
- I have included links to some reviews of product suggestions below.

I ALWAYS thought these pink and red scars were hyper pigmentation and I was combating them as such. This video has changed my entire routine. No more throwing useless and harmful products at them! Thankyou. :)

niacinamide from the ordinary is saving my life! i’ve been dealing with really bad hormonal acne for a few months (antibiotics, duac and epiduo, all that great stuff lmao) and although it has calmed down in terms of pimple production, i’m left with pigmentation and pick/boxcar scars ;; i’ve noticed a lot of improvement with using the niacinamide serum, and now i got a cerave moisturiser with ceramides to help my skin even more. thank you for your videos, they’re so also your voice is so beautifully soothing

Renee, can you please do a video for 20-somethings, who are just beginning their skin care routine? (I am 25 and am a little overwhelmed with the market) Thanks :)

I have been using the niacinimide serum from "the ordinary" for 1month and you're right it's a life saviour for me for dark spots, uneven skin and unlarged pores as well. I discovered that ingredient in a SK-2 serum which I loved but stop buying because of the price. Vitamin C serum don't work for me. I always end up breaking out so niacinimide is from now on the way to go for me!

My husband loves microneedling with the Banisher 2.0. So easy to use. Scars faded after 4 to 6 uses! Definitely a must-have 👌

I'm actually really really impressed. This video summed up what seems to have taken me years to i wish I could have seen this video about a year or two ago to save my skin some trouble and prevent me from messing up my skin any further.

I'm white with fair skin and struggle with post-acne marks. I've been having some really good results alternating the following products: Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Oil, Sunday Riley Good Genes, The Ordinary Niacinamide + Zinc, The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin + HA, and The Ordinary Vitamin C suspension. The healing and fading time has been substantially reduced.

My saviour! Thank you so much for your video. Clear, concise, and simple. Ive tried so many trendy approaches to help my skin from expensive Aha acid cleanser, retin a, benzoyl peroxide, African black soap, derma roller, various exfoliants, etc. And I’m finally winding down and really getting to the root of my problems. But the nutritional, natural, skincare, side of YouTube always says different things and contradicts each other constantly. I’m glad you’re not saying “you need this!!!” To 100 different expensive products and oils and vitamins etc, because people with very bad skin are very vulnerable and will believe that they do. Which I mean people have to be more considerate with these things because sure the products are usually harmless but it adds up prices in a big way. I’m only 3 videos in and I just feel like I’ll trust whatever u say lol. I’m relieved and thankful.

I'd never heard of the distinction between PIE & PIH - this is CRUCIAL when it comes to treatment. Thank you! Less than one minute in & you've already made me chuckle & taught me something extremely valuable ♡

Oh, I did recommend the Cosrx Centella toner to a friend with cystic acne and she loves it. I use it only when my skin is red or sensitive. Thought I would share with my fellow Renee fans 😊

You have no idea how much you helped me! I have super super dry, sensitive and dehydrate skin, my skin was always smooth and never really had break out until two years ago I bought Clarisonic cleaning my skin became so thin and extremely sensitive, I had worst breakouts. My face had lots of rash, it was red and small bumps everywhere (God I wish I can upload a picture of it). I tried everything that everyone suggested, some works and some don't, I don't even know which one actually worked because I'm putting so much product on my face. But the rush still comes back from time to time, I don't even know what I'm sensitive to. And I found this channel one month ago. I bought most products that (address my concerns)you suggested, if not all. And many worked well, I'm doing the 7 skin method everyday and clean my skin using low PH cleanser. It's been one month and the rash haven't came back yet. Now my concerns are much simple, the red marks that's all over my face( I can be cool with it because the rash are nightmares), the fine lines under my eyes ( I hope it's due to dryness since I'm only 23 T-T), the fact my face alway feels dry when I weak up in the morning, and it's really hard for my skin to absorb a lot things ( it's like I just pile stuff on top and it doesn't go into my skin). But I'm much happier without rash, so thank you Renee <3~ My little suggestion is to show more products that's helping these concerns ( or pictures of them), and it would be better if I can find them in amazon or sephora. Love you! And I wish more people (with skin problems)can be saved by you!
