If I had used animal fats in these experiments, it would have been even more dramatic.

I agree with you. I’m type 2. I’ve tried keto, low carb, carnivore and none of those worked for me. What’s working for me now is I eat fruit in the morning and then 6 to 8 hours later I will eat a plant based meal and then go to work which consists of a lot of walking and moving for 4 hours. I noticed when I eat fruit in the morning I’m not hungry for a long time. On my days off I also walk and move, I find that after I eat fruit I have a ton of energy, I’m moving most of the day, cleaning, doing laundry, walking my dog, grocery shopping . My highest weight was 200 pounds, I’m now 168 and my goal is to lose 30 to 40 more pounds. I have struggled for so many years to get rid of the fat on my body and it’s finally coming off, I used to wear a size 16/18 and I’m now wearing medium pants 8/10. What works for 1 person won’t work for another.

Gotta love it when a non-diabetic with absolutely normal blood sugar and insulin response uses themselves as an example for what diabetics should be consuming. I am diabetic. When I eat a low carb meal, my blood sugar will rise about 20 pts then come back down to pre-meal levels or better, yet one banana will send it soaring over 400, and it takes days to come back down. I tried the Master Diabetes program and my blood sugar more than doubled and stayed there, until I switched back to low carb. If this works for some diabetics, that's great, but it definitely didn't work for me.

Because I'm so good at digesting anything, my body managed to reach 330 lbs in weight and in order to get the weight off I had to stop eating sugar and carbs.

The low fat method has allowed my grandmother to get down to 2-4 units of insulin, and now she only has to use the short term insulin instead of the long lasting. I personally believe the long lasting slow release insulin keeps you with type 2 diabetes. She's almost off insulin, and she eats cooked vegan meals, not even raw vegan. I think once she adjusts her dinner to be as low fat as the rest of the day, she will not need insulin. This is kind of scary because even though she gets low blood sugar readings of 50-60 her doctor still thinks she should take insulin. So I'm trying to get her to stop listening to the nonsense as her blood sugar readings always run low because of her low fat diet. I can't stand her doctor honestly. Keeping her afraid and confused when it comes to sugar and fruits.

I improved my insulin sensitivity using the low fat method. I still love avocado and tahini, but I'm going to experiment with higher fat and resistance training. There is some german raw vegan body builder on here, and he says not to worry about the fat if you're training hard. So I can't wait to test this :D

Pretty insane society still don't have the general knowledge or consensus of what type of fuel to run the human body on.

fat is needed in order to detox the liver though, and stimulate release of bile.that is why the olive oil with lemon works..people don't do well with carbs and fat combined because their livers are clogged more and more as we get older..if you can't digest fats properly and maintain good blood sugar levels, it isn't the fat...its the state of our organs..light foods/fruits may help, but isn't addressing the root of the problem (clogged up liver/inadequate bile flow)

A "fat" may actually be the cause of diabetes and obesity. Dr. Chris Knobbe, Ophthalmologists, did a presentation on the Low Carb Down Under channel, called "Diseases of Civilization". It highlights the dangers of Seed oils. It's very compelling. I've watched it about 5 times.

As someone who feels absolutely amazing on low carb. This is actually true. My bloodsugar was never particularly high, but it was borderline diabetic when fasted and A1C was slowly heading up year after year.
Did wfpb and Esselstyns(4months, VERY low fat) for almost a year and my A1C dropped to perfect/low, which was so hard for my mind to grasp since I was eating high carb like 5-6x a day lol.
Bad thing is I felt like utter dogshit on a WFPB diet. I absolutely hate how I feel on a high carb, or rather a diet without animal products. My sleep/mood/brain/complexion just gets worse and worse.
So I can't win xd, but you're spot on here

i am in the best health of my life on a mainly yoghurt, animal based proteins diet early in the day, some honey and berries for carbs with animal protein/fats only or small amount of juice. and at the end of my day I have 1 meal with lots of lentils & beans & potatoes, with ginger & turmeric for digestion( very important with starches/grains to have digestive aids I have noticed)

All of you arguing with him should look at Kempner rice diet...
And the fact that the Chinese lived on rice and were not diabetic and were thin.

1 question. I never measured my blood sugar but if I eat anything sweet in isolation I get terrible headache like I drank alcohol but if I eat same food with fat and protein I feel calm and relaxed, no crashes or anything like that so should I stick to eating pure sugar until it just feels good?

The Mastering Diabetes folks are saying the exact same thing.
