For number one also add - research how materials act when maintained ie and when to use those materials ie for hot weather/sensative skin etc.

5. Make sure it’s washable! I bought seemingly great basic barrel trousers from Massimo Dutti, and realized too late they were not washable! Turns out many garments from Massimo Dutti are labeled as dry clean only even the most simple fabrics. I washed those trousers on cold on gentle cycle anyways and they shrunk 10cm.

Yes! Yes! It's a must to have the basics. And I agree. I have always bought quality because that's my preference. I too look for the quality details such as, the fabric, stitching, buttons, the elastic, the details in the design, the fit, etc. I never waste money on cheap clothing. That's just how I shop for clothing. And I do love to have the basic colors as well so I can mix it up. It's a must for me to have linen pants and regular cotton ones as well. And of course the white t-shirt made with good cotton and with a little spandex. My favorite to go to and shop from are: Banana Republic, J. Crew, Gap, Revolve, Talbot's, The Loft, Saks. You pay more but it's quality clothing and they last. Great tips by the way. 😁👌❤️
