Thank you so much! This really helped me a lot for my university physics course.

Thank you for this video, I took the screenshots of this video a lot of times because it looks so aesthetic 🙃

I think, instead of integrating twice, we can write

1) A = (pi).r^2 Area Equation
and then, if we take derivative, it yields

2) dA = 2(pi)r.dr
and if we multiply it by rho, the result should be equal to dQ,

3) dQ = (rho).2.(pi)r.dr

Finally, we can put this into the equation and integrate it from 0 to infinity.
So this is a bit easier way I guess.

Sir u are amazing I don't know why I was never taught this method of electric field due to infinite charge sheet.

I made new question from reasearch paper on this concept thanku

Thanks because now the double integral makes sense.

Nice work. BUT.. isn't it the same as the E caused by a disk? The only change is an infinite radius. Hence, we can gust integrate the disk's "dE" from "x=0" to "x=infinity", can't we?!

You are a great tutor I have ever come across with sir, , , but my question is ; Why did you divide the charged sheet into charged rings sir?

Dear Professor, i was wondering why here you write dA = dr*ds = dr * r *dTheta. However, in equation before where ring is used you use just radius and dtheta . I am confused ?!

how to calculate the Electric field in the infinite sheet of charges by putting a circle not a ring ?

Thanks sir. Why we use the area for the ring? In previous video we use length for it. My other question is how electric field cannot be depend on distance. Shouldnt it weaken as we go for away the sheet?

Great explanation. Just a comment. There is an error at the end, he forgets a 2 so the final Et = sigma/epsilon .

Hello professor, quick question. How does 2rdr allow us to integrate (r^2+z^2)?

lofijedi

can we do this by integrating disc all over the sheet

Professor, it might be an ugly question but I was wondering if we take rings as elements, are we not losing out on some area ( the corners) in the case of both finite and infinite sheets?

I used a gaussian surface and it gave the same result
