All great points, however still love my S15, never going to sell it. Will i own other cars? Of course and i do. This was the car i wanted since i was 14, only tasteful mods, trying to keep it as close to factory as i can.
Drift tax has obviously inflated my sense of value, but im not selling so doesn't matter. The analog driving experience of this car is like a floating leaf down a stream. I agree it's not for everybody, but then again that wasn't the point for those great engineers that designed this car. This isn't rant at all, this is an appreciation for a car that was a breakthrough in my mind, compared to so many other disappointing cars of the time. A true driver's car, floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee.
One last note is when kitted well is a jaw dropper at shows. Sexiest car in the world in my opinion, when done properly.

I'm just wondering, is it true that part of the reason why some people swap out their stock original steering wheels is the fact that the Takata airbags tend to explode? I'm just wondering, that's all

You do look like a golf driver. you go and set it up for drift and then wonder why it rattles and doesnt cruise well. Golf drivers

i have s13 sr20det and had it 10 years, for many of those years it was daily driven and just had bolt ons running 10 psi of boost.out of those 10 years i was only left stranded twice and both were my own fault, once was because i had sucked water into intake and got the maf wet, thi happened because my ic piping holes i cut were too large so when i hit a huge puddle water got past and wet the maf.the fix was simply drying it.
the second time was when i came up a steep driveway and the intercooler got caught on the ground and ripped the couplers apart, again the fault was not having ic mounted and car too low.

my sister bought a brand new jeep wrangler with 10k miles.in one year it was down 3x and was down longer then it was not, once because faulty ficm relay box, another was faulty seat module was pulling down the can system, another was a faulty sensor pulled down her 5v reference to ground.all these took months for the shop to fix under warranty.

ive had a prius and my s13 was faaaar more reliable.

that being said these newer cars are junk, ill stick with my 90s cars that dont leave me stranded

I've owned my S15 since 2005, 18 years now. Its mainly parked in the garage due to the value of it vs risk of an idiot crashing into it. With all its "flaws" there no way ill be letting it go as driving it always give me a buzz compared to my daily shopping cart lol

Same as you I bought mine in 2019 for $15.5k and now I'm 2j swapping it, no regrets at all.

i follow a S15 to work most mornings and its got a personalised number plate SJUGYO, for the life off me i had no idea what it meant till i asked a fella at work, S for s and the rest is 15 in Japanese

High performance cars require maintenance . If you're not happy with a S Chassis. Buy a grey import Skyline. I get pulled over by the police and they say "great car" Don't comparw VW to Nissan. Go drive a boring VW and sell the car. No more winging. 🇦🇺🤘
