I have a 2008 Rogue that was given to me as a gift from my grandparents, it’s been a good car for the year (or so) I’ve owned it. Transmission is still very smooth as well.

I just bought mine 2 months ago. 2021 Nissan rogue. It gets sluggish at times when I accelerate. Thank you for this video. I’m not really a car guy and didn’t know how to explain the problem. Thanks a million bro!! You are doing the lord’s work. You never know how what you do impacts others.

Thanks 🙏🏽

My fiancee has a 2009 Nissan rogue that we bought from my parents who bought it new. Since we have owned it, I've had to replace CV axels, the drive shaft, and I think I changed the gas cap for an evap issue. I don't know if the transmission fluid has ever been changed, so I better do that before I check another issue off on your top 5 list. I'm glad 1A auto makes so many videos for her exact car! I'm about to replace her valve cover and you guys have a perfect video for me to follow along with. Thanks!

Dude that rotor shield was EXACTLY what I was trying to identify. Thank you!!! I kept hearing something that sounded like something was hanging under the car and scraping the pavement. Bent out the shield and wouldn’t you know it...quiet as a church mouse. Wish I’d have watched this video an hour ago lol

Aside from general maintenance, my 2013 rogue seems to break down with some kind of issue every 2 years, almost like clockwork. Bought used in 2017 with 46, 000 miles on it and CVT went out around 49, 000. According to the dealership, the belt melted. Nissan very reluctantly replaced a component and added a cooling system. Then I twice had issues with the tensioner pulley, followed by wiper motor failures, two alternator failures, and a radiator that has gone bad. I have multiple rattling noises and rough acceleration from time to time. I love my vehicle, but I am not at all impressed with it. I hesitated to jump from the Honda/Toyota ship, and I was a fool to do so! This will be the only Nissan I ever own.

Had my 2011 Rogue since it came out. I am know experiencing 3 of these issues but only after 10 years of this car being good to me.

As someone who owns a 2013 rouge. Don’t do it. Yes it’s a comfortable SUV, and I am a very safe driver; regardless my car was very loud and shaky before I got a full set of brakes and Rotors. Now my transmission is really messed up and from all the shops and mechanics I’ve been to, they’re giving me a price of $3, 500-$5, 000 to get fixed. I need a who new transmission rebuild plus the labor work. So unless you’re willing to make that commitment stay away from this model and any Nissan.

as owner of one of these, I can confirm at least 3 out of the ones mentioned. the major one is always the CVT, which can be 'solved' by installing an external CVT cooling system, around $500 USD, overall, good SUV.

Great video. I have had 4 out of 5 of these issues you talk about, My EVAP hasn't given me issues yet (knock on wood) but have had other issues as well. I bought my 2012 Rogue used in 2018 with 50k miles on it, it was an (insurance claim car). I have 165k on it now and I think my PCV valve needs replaced and/or my spark plugs. The past two years I spent just about 4k on fixing my Rogue. The blower motor last year and this year the axils, boots, sway arms, hub bearings, all wheel stuff. But I do love my Rogue my goal is to get 250k miles out of it. All my other vehicles I got 250k on my Chevy Cavalier and traded it for my Chevy Malibu 260k before I sold it to buy a 2011 Hyundai Elantra which was a terrible car, only got barley 200k on that car and had more problems than my Nissan ever had.

I own a Nissan 2013 with 180k as of today. I still have the original brake pads. The only issues I've ever had with the Rouge is the AC compressor and the doors locks. I replaced one CV on the right side. I have never replaced the oil for the CVT but religiously change the engine oil at the dealership. I have to replace the catalytic converter to pass inspection this year. All the items mentioned in this video have NOT been an issue.

I have 2010 @60 k. In my case, the only issue is the occasional gear engagement problem. It is recurring. I mentioned this to a local mechanic but he seem to have no clue about the problem.

I’ve owed a 2008 and now a 2013. I regret every penny. From time to time there is always an little annoying issue. I had to replace the ac compressor on both rogues. What a pain 🤯 The car is good when there is no problems lol

Yep. Blower motor went out on mine. Now the rubber boots on the front axle are torn. A mechanic is recommending that I replace the axle(s) at a cost of $1, 100. No clicking noise from the CV joints. Just torn boots. Should the axle(s) with boots be replaced now? I’m fixing issues to sell the car. It’s a 2008 with 208, 000 miles. I’m wanting a second opinion from a pro.

Bought a 2008 Rogue off my mother in law when she got a new car.
She had already replaced the CVT.
But I do a drain and fill on the CVT fluid annually (Idemitsu is a good OEM quality fluid at a fraction of the price of Nissan branded, just get the right kind).
Have done the other fluids also (coolant, brake fluid, regular oil changes).
New tires, battery, serpentine belt, spark plugs and coil packs (one went bad) since we’ve owned it also.

Recently replaced the clutch on the ac compressor since we lost ac, worked great.
But what do you know, now either the resistor or blower motor has gone (fuses still fine), so getting ready to replace those.
Gonna do a brake job at the same time.

It’s got 230k miles but still runs and drives great, albeit did need the new CVT years ago.

Thanks man I just watched this again for the second time and I was able to fix my noise just by screwing the shields.
