My sister has a ‘12 Versa sedan, one minor problem in 8 and a 1/2 years of ownership and I have almost 2 years on my ‘19 with none currently. So far it’s been a pleasure in reliability. Thanks for the very informative video.

I bought a new 2012 Versa SV sedan when they first came out. I initially loved it. It was very spacious and comfortable to drive, and the fuel economy was stellar. However, the black paint started peeling in several places the first year. Nissan took care of it under warranty, thankfully. At 30k miles I took it to the dealership to have the CVT fluid change. The dealership said their computer told them the fluid was still clean and to wait to change it at 50k miles. Well, at 38k miles the CVT started slipping and making horrible squealing noise. It was only once in a while, so it was one of those situations where the dealership would've just told me they couldn't duplicate the issue. So I kept driving hoping it would totally fail before the 60k mile warranty expired. I got it to 56k miles and it was still slipping and squealing only on rare occasions, so to avoid risking having to pay $6, 000 out of pocket for a new transmission on a 2yr old car, I opted to trade it in. I was very disappointed.

2014 Versa SE
1) Transmission runs high RPM and fails to shift - They settled a law suit over this, but did not recall. I was S.O.L. and had to replace the transmission
2) Electric door locks continue to fail - Had mine replace 4 times while under warranty, but now have to unlock back doors manually
3) Unusual wear on battery - 4 Batteries in 5 years

I have a 2019 Nissan versa ( previously.a service car at Nissan dealership) and experienced the first issue he mentioned ( rpm vs speed). Changed the gas cap and cleaned the Mass air flow sensor, problem solved. It has 112+k miles. Extended auto warranty is offered up to 150k but declined since it's pricey. Automatic oil transmission flush is recommended every 30k miles.

so helpful! I' had several of these problems. Nice to know it is the vehicle and not abnormal. '17 Versa with 115K miles. Still going strong!

On my second Versa. My first one threw a rod at around 170k miles so junked it. This one has 115k and just had to put in a new clutch and a left rear wheel bearing. Needs a blower fan for the AC now. But all in all been a good little car.

I do have a Nissan 2015 Latio( versa), up till now auto transmission working well, honestly no major issues just normal wear and tear, however after about 177000km engine burns oil slightly, for me regular changing of fluids and maintainance is important for the life and performance of your Nissan Latio(Versa).

I got a 14 model at 130k miles and tbh it's been well kept. I can vouch for the fuel filling and maybe the clicking noise. Yes transmission is faulty too actually, it will have that speedometer stop some times but it's been a while. Hopefully my cousin didn't rip me off haha

The CVT in these can be reliable it just requires proper maintenance. It can’t handle neglect as much as a standard torque converter automatic.
