My UnFi 'PRO' Router Just Arrived!!

My New Overkill Router Just Arrived: The Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro Max is the lastest router from Ui, but with some stick on Reddit, we thought we'd do a review!

I have the UMB pro. I don't use the supplied ports as it's a shared Gbs backplane. I have an sfp + to copper plugged into my ISP 10 Mb port. Then a 10 G dac cable to a 24 port standard Unifi switch. I don't need Poe right now. Very fast. My network is vlanned and very secure. Couldn't be happier

Been watching your channel for years now and it’s honestly surprising you haven’t ended up on TV in some capacity, your presenting style is fantastic.

The only major changes are the addition of a second hard drive slot and a slightly more powerful SoC. Everything else remains the same as the SE, including the 2.5G for WAN and 2 SFP+ ports. and I know the IPS is now at 5gbs...In my opinion, the upgrade isn't worth it for me. If I prefer redundancy with mirror or RAID 1 for camera data, I'd rather migrate and use my NAS for that purpose.

HA shadow mode works on same consoles like UDM pro with UDM pro similarly with Pro max and SE.

I'm looking to for a router that can handle 2GB internet over PPPOE with a fully blown Firewall. it looks pretty difficult. I think i may have to go with OPenWRT on a PC with 2 SFP+ or 10gbe and a 2.5Gb ethernet switch

Ok I have a dream box, 1 year old, but WiFi 7 just came out. Will I get WiFi 7 speeds if I upgrade??
