UniFi Design Center Feature: WiFi Coverage

UniFi Design Center makes it easy to plan out your WiFi access point (AP) placement. Simply add APs to your floor plan and turn on the visual filter to instantly visualize the signal coverage based on each device's specifications.

Design Center is great. Unfortunately there no way of exporting your plan to UNA (as far as I know), therefore once you have the controller up and running, you need to the plan all over again in the controller.

The only downside is not seeing signal in a 3D space - meaning no signal representation for a room directly above an access point. Otherwise, I dig it!

Would be nice to be able to mount the AP's vertically to show the range of the LR units (unless i missed it somewhere)

I am using the Desingn web site right now but it looks different than this.. there is no coverage feature either? Is this a stand alone ap, or was the UI changed recently?

I have a Dream Machine set up at the moment, however, there is no option to make a heat map within the controller. How come? Is there special licensing required?

Needs to be able to import floor plans, show multiple floors coverage and mounting orientation for the units.

Only problem, you can't adjust transmit power of each ap to view theoretical coverage.

All comments say “great except for” that means it’s not that great.

Unifi wants you to think it’s incredible-it’s not. They want you to put a $200 AP in every room. Thoroughly disappointed with the performance of this product.
