Sal solves 6x²-120x+600=0 by first dividing by 6 and then factoring.

High School Math on Khan Academy: Did you realize that the word "algebra" comes from Arabic (just like "algorithm" and "al jazeera" and "Aladdin")? And what is so great about algebra anyway? This tutorial doesn't explore algebra so much as it introduces the history and ideas that underpin it.

Khan Academy is an amazing source for me. I can find a video on any math problems, and if I don't understand it I just find an easier video that they made and work up to it. I have learned far more from Khan Academy this year than from my idiotic teacher who will never lend a hand or provide any assistance.
Thank you for saving my grades.

shouldn't the answer be 6(x-10)^2, because (x-10)^2 isnt equivalent

I compared the graphs of 6x^2 -120x +600 =0 to x^2 -20x +100 =0 and the latter has a wider parabola than the former, therefore I say the equation was changed by dividing both sides by 6.
Thoughs?

But we have simplest way by the calculating Discriminant (D). I found that D = 0, so we just can do it by the formula 'x = -b/2a' and x is the same = 10.
I've spent 30 sec - 1min on Discriminant way, when on this way - nearly 2min with not bad brainstorm. So, I can conclude this way is not practical. Or quadratic equations have some exceptions when D is not working?
