I feel like there are three kinds of people in the comments right now:

1 - those who are being defensive of either police officers and guns or the use of "there should be a law"

2 - those who are joking and using the phrase "there should be a law..."

3 - those who want to know whether the girl said yes to the prom question

I fall in category #3 :)

I agree with the sentiment but I come from the UK where the police don't have guns. We do what the police says because you can get arrested, not because they have guns. I somehow doubt people will go around stealing and resisting arrest any more if the police don't have guns.
