This is actually the first watch I ever bought because it’s super awesome looking.

I wear a Seiko Automatic as everyday watch at work. One of the best watches out there. And if you don’t want to spend a fortune, it’s probably the best option.

The 7S26 Automatic Seiko movement is extremely robust and keeps decent time, but it cannot be hand-wound.

What happened if you wind it too much? Would the main spring break?

It depends on the movement as well, it's not the same for some other movements

I've got a SRPB41 too and I must say that 20 turns is not even close to fully wound. 20 turns will give a couple hours of running. It's more like 60 turns to get closer to fully wound.

It depends on the mechanism. For example my watches need only 5 rotations to run properly and 10 rotations to be fully charged

If it’s a Sellita SW200, never. All other automatics 5-15 times and just wear it. Or get a quartz movement and have a power reserve of 2-3 years and no maintenance costs as you can do it yourself.

I bought a seiko automatic watch last month dec 2024. Early this morning it stopped working. It began working after I wore it. How many times should I wind it on a daily basis or weekly basis to keep it working?

Is there damage to the automatic watch if you overwind it with the crown????

I have recently learnt that with an automatic watch, using the winder is not a good idea. This is the weak point of the mechanism and it is better to gently shake the watch, or give a few winds to start it, then wear it to allow the rotor to naturally keep the watch wound. Avoid hand winding as much as possible.

How many times should I rotate the crown to wind it up, for a ladies antique art Deco Bulova watch? Is it the same for a ladies Everite watch from the 40's -50'? They aren't automatic unfortunately .
Thanks in advance! 😊

I have a seiko vintage divers watch, is it ok for me to wind it manually since i think the power reserve is not that great on this particular model

How about divers? I've recently been gifted a Seiko diver (skx) and do I just unscrew the crown and rotate it the way you did in the video?
