Theres a better way to water your bees that wont create a mosquito breeding ground! You can fill a bowl with water and fill it with small rocks. This will also allow other species like hummingbirds and wasps to drink as well, and promotes a healthier backyard ecosystem!
In case you were worried, these shallow watering spots act like larger watering holes. Wasps won't attack bees at these shared spots, its actually pretty cool :D ! I study bees and wasps as a biology student, and i hope this helps!

I put a few sprigs of lemon balm in a shallow dish of water and there's always bees drinking from that! I change water daily and balm as needed.
