Training a Beagle - Obedience, Potty & Crate Training

Beagles have an incredible sense of smell, and they are well known for their hunting abilities. Apart from being scent hounds, they make excellent family and companion dogs. Training them could be a challenging task, because they are easily distracted by their sharp sense of smell, and often follow their noses. However, by using proper training techniques, you can make the best use of their abilities.

According to American kennel club, there are five basic commands that every puppy needs to learn.

The initial phase of training could be challenging for both of you. Be gentle with your puppy and don’t over-train her. Make the training an entertaining process for them, not a challenging one. Beagles are active dogs who love to play around, and you can make training a part of their playing session.
