I have a short haired dog and I get these all the time. Even if I put fresh clean socks on before our 2 mile walk, it sucks when you get one right in the middle of it. They are so painful.

These are called slivers. When i was young, my mother worked at this salon but i always wore sandals so id get these all the time. It hurts so much and feels like heaven to get out

The pain from these is stupidly intense. Had one that was buried pretty deep cause it was so thin I hadn't noticed it. The pain was so strong that digging it out with a needle hurt less.

Alot of people don't understand what trenchant foot is. And that it's caused by the permeability of the skin when we have soggy sweaty feet. I've had thousands of tiny grains of sand stuck in my foot before because of sweaty feet and didn't think to wipe my feet down before continuing to work. Boy was that a mistake.
Months of blisters and irritated feet.

Yeah I definitely know the pain when this happens to me. Can't walk around my house without slippers anymore due to my chocolate lab and jackrussel/corgi hair shedding and especially now that I'm pregnant again and my feet feel everything

I'm not convinced you're a doctor. This is a splinter hair. I've gotten them a lot. It's nothing bad, just a sting. Very easy to remove.
