If one has had many tiny black bumps all over their legs.. for years now.. that if scratched release tiny curly hair follicles on brown skin... Is that ingrown hairs/folliculitis!? If so...what creams or treatment in specific can help?

Hello Dr. Simi. My son has face crates, not sure of medical terminology. Ingrown hairs has been a problem. He’s a really hairy guy and as his mom I want to help. What can I do about the ingrown hairs and face craters that has developed. Any suggestions would be wonderful. He’s 22 and won’t date because of this insecurity. I have had this for years. They are quite painful and easily irritated. I have recently started treatment, so hopefully I can completely recover from this.
