Holly Willoughby said she felt “shaken, troubled, let down” as she returned to This Morning for the first time since Philip Schofield left the show after revelations about his affair with a younger colleague.

Willoughby appeared close to tears as she opened the show and told viewers: “I imagine that you might have been feeling a lot like I have: shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what’s been going on and full of questions.

“You, me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who wasn’t telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved.”

She added that it was “equally hard” to see the toll the recent events had taken on Schofield’s mental health.

Pushing away calls for the programme to be cut, Willoughby concluded by saying that “every single person that works on this show will continue to work hard every single day to bring you the show we love”.

I am so very proud of the British public for not falling for this absolute bs

Why is this all being handled so dramatically? Personally I don’t know anyone who feels they “need to heal” just because a tv presenter has lied and had to resign. Do these people genuinely think that the British public are devastated by this whole seedy debacle? We have better things to think about. Get over yourselves ITV.

She’s back from her lovely holiday! With her script, hair and outfit on point feeding us a load of BS. She’s been on the show for years, but nah it’s not enough! The greedy grifter won’t give new presenters a chance, will continue to take us for fools. She’ll overstay her welcome on our televisions and will continue to milk itv for eternity. 👏

This will go down in history as one of the funniest TV moments ever.
She sounded like a social worker addressing a bunch of thick kids.
I'm only surprised that she didn't end her speech by saying, "Phillip has been very naughty and we know what happens to naughty boys, don't we, children?"
"And now . . . sniffle . . . on with the show!"
She had the sincerity of a crocodile offering a lift across the river to a wildebeest.
She's a vile excuse for a human being.

As a young person I had ambitions to be part of the entertainment industry not to be famous but to genuinely be a part of it. After a month's work at the BBC and attending drama school full time I ran for the flipping hills and never looked back. It's the most cruelest, fake and opportunistic environment I've ever been in and nothing bad happened to me because I was a very strong outspoken confident girl from a very rough part of London who could hold her own . If I wasn't I would've been swallowed up and crushed like the others around me. The culture is disgusting. I lost count of how many disappointing famous people I met!

Notice whenever she mentions herself she always links herself to the viewers, "you me all of us", "you have been feeling alot like I have" etc ... In a pathetic attempt to subconsciously put herself in the same boat as the viewers. What a horrible Narcissistic woman!

She's doing the same old Holly schtick (with a baby voice🙄) and it bothers me watching her do it. She's not stupid, she knew exactly what was going on, that's why she left Schofield's agency in 2020 when he "came out". Now she's playing all innocent just to save her skin, it's so obvious.
ITV should pause her from the show, freshen up the format and come back with something and someone else in order to be able to leave this sordid chapter behind.

She called him out as a liar once again, .she refers to him as they. Can't even be personal about him.and unites the nation against him by saying we all supported him and he lied .brutal.

I’m sick to death of this pair…..let’s not forget they are quick to judge others yet when it comes to there friends they pretend nothing has happened. And let’s not forget the arrogance of these two jumping the queue of the funeral of our beloved Queen… using every ounce of there privilege…… wouldn’t trust the pair or them…….🤦‍♂️🙄

Sorry Holly but that was so insincere and what you’re really saying is forget Phil S and leave the big stuff to you! Yeh he told a lie about an gay affair with another consenting adult. What has he actually done wrong in law? Why are all you fab friends frenzy feeding on this guy. He is a great presenter, he taught you your job. He didn’t share a personal but lawful secret with you or his employer - so what. Are you saying you have no secrets? Be careful Holly what goes around comes around. You dumped a friend at the worst moment in his life, friends screw up but as best mates we don’t totally destroy them. You should all be ashamed.

Why does it have to be 'one big family'?

That's usually where abuse begins...

I'm beginning to believe she was the one who leaked Phillips's affair to the press
