• 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
• 1 small yellow onion diced
• 3 cloves garlic minced
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
• 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
• 2 (15 ounce) cans black beans undrained
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves chopped

1️⃣ 00:00:46 - Heat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add in the oil and let heat briefly.

2️⃣ 00:00:51 - Add in onions and saute for 5 to 7 minutes until soft.

3️⃣ 00:01:01 - Add in minced garlic, cumin, and cayenne pepper and saute another 60 seconds.

4️⃣ 00:01:29 - Add in un-drained black beans and juices from can. Let simmer for 5 minutes. Salt to taste. Serve hot topped with fresh cilantro.

This is a great simple and fast method for cooking Mexican black beans. Some people say rinse them but in the case of canned black beans, if you rinse you will take away the creamy flavorfull liquids! If you're worried about sodium buy the no salt added kind! Thanks for posting this recipe😊

At the beginning fry loads of different colour peppers with the onion. Fry slowly for ages until water disappears and you get almost a pulp. Add some red chilli's as well and to save money buy dried black turtle beans. Big bags are cheap. Soak overnight and boil until done. Delish!

I made these for dinner tonight and holy cowbells, they are SO GOOD (and SO easy!)!! The only thing I changed is that I used chipotle seasoning instead of cayenne pepper which gave these a really nice smokiness! I will be revisiting this recipe often! Thank you!

Well, these will go great with your Carne Asada (which is currently marinating in the fridge). I always forget to soak my dried beans overnight, so this recipe will definitely come in handy!

Today I whipped up this recipe then googled to see if was close Lolol mine is 100%?better
Cups of black beans soaked over night with 10 cloves of garlic
Green red and yellow peppers and two onions and a cup or so maybe two of water boiled on low today for two hours and damn this is good better then a restaurant. Then again I eye everything so go by guess what you need not too much water watch that. Lolololol. Oh I added salt ground pepper chili powder paprika 6 bay leaves turmeric alittle and alittle onion flakes. Love creative cooking it’s the best. I also smashed it with potatoes masher to make more creamy.

You should always wash the beans when you use canned beans and throw the water away, that’s where the indigestible starches are .... learned that at a Jason Wyrick evening

I salted ground pork, let it sit and then cooked them. When your black bean dish was done, I put the ground pork ON TOP, so it would remain a different flavor. When they ate them combined, the pork with the bean dish, had retained there own flavors, and was delicious. (The trick was for the pork to have it's own distinct flavor and not be completely absorbed by the bean flavor.).
