I love the little spagnum moss in the front I think it's adorable. it's amazing to see how it grew in from the original design.

I quite like the idea of doing "free" terrariums. Don't get me wrong, I love the other terrariums you make but like you mentioned, people on a very strict budget can see how easy it is to make one without stressing over finances. I myself am looking into making one as my first terrarium, using nothing but whatever I can source locally. Thank you for inspiring me to bring out my lost love for plants. When I was in 5th or 6th grade, around 11-12 years ago, we all got cuttlings of pine trees from our FFA chapter. I was one of few who actually planted mine and all these years later its doing great and producing too many pine cones to count. I've also had great luck planting tomatoes so i am definitely looking for the challenge of a terrarium. My biggest issue is the substrate. Can I just grab dirt from outside and bake it then mix in boiled bark pieces and home made lump charcoal and Will tap water from a well hurt the plants in this type of application? Should I use purified bottled water?

The first terrarium I made following your tips is now 1, 5 year old. I make some for friends when they ask and it's not always successful but my friends really like them. Thank you for your economic and practical advices I love your videos!

Just made one of these with my 16 month old daughter. She wasn't much for designing the terrarium but as for gathering materials she was surprisingly good at picking stuff out once she saw what I was grabbing. I think this may be the first interest we've ever truly shared that she could play a constructive role in.
Building terrariums and keeping animals was a strong hobby of mine when I was younger that I fell out due to a demanding career. I would never have guessed that this period of my life would be the one I could pick up an old hobby when my attention is stretched thin between a stressful job and toddler. Instead she was actively interested in figuring out what I was picking up and which jar I was putting things in, and contributed more resources than keeping her out of trouble demanded. It was an amazing afternoon which quite possibly shared a love for the hobby, and the outdoors in general, in a much deeper way than I though she could pick up at this age.
While this is absolutely something which would have been some part of her life eventually, this video and your channel are 100% the reason we went out to do it yesterday and made it happen much sooner than it would have otherwise. I just wanted to take the chance that you would read this and that you could know that. You may not be curing cancer or digging wells in impoverished communities in Africa (that I know of), but you are absolutely doing real good in this world, and the passions you are cultivating and nurturing may even save this planet, or even help terraform another!

This is my favourite one! It's so perfectly designed. I love how it's go so much depth. All the moss terrariums I make are just flat and boring hahaha :(

Can you make a closed terrarium like a small paludarium? Springtails in soil and small creatures(maybe daphnia) in water?

Once again... HOW DO YOU EVEN HAVE HATERS? Anyways I love it. I personally liked it when you first made it but it’s your terrarium and not mine. Keep making good videos and just from me watching my first 6 and only 6 that I have terrariums are very successful because of this channel!
