what type of rope should I use for my autoblock. Is paracord ok, or should I use amsteel, or something else?

an "auto bloc" isn't a specific knot, because it isn't a knot at all. It is a hitch used in the configuration of an "auto bloc" function. Many hitches are used as such.

Also known as the "French prusik knot" -- not to be confused with the just plain "prusik knot"
