I would say that you're better teaching to go down from the top when threading through the harness loops. If you were to forget one of the holes it is better to be attached by the top one rather than risking inversion from the leg loop attachment. Obviously a buddy check should catch this but mistakes happen.

The load bearing rope is on the outer side, if you put it on the inner side, it causes it to seize up less

Why not go thru repelling loop, that’s what it’s there for. Use the other for Redundancy( your Backup)???
