great job and please take this as a tip. Rather than so many concrete piers, you could have used a 2x8 or 2x10 with 3-4 concrete blocks. You can space them up to 8 feet.

I agree with those who said more blocks than needed but that is one solid deck, nice build

Little tip for leveling and lining up the concrete slabs. Use a string that you level first. That way you just line it up to the string and throw a level on it.

Way to go Ray... I feel ya brother, I do a lot of DIY projects alone with no helper so I have to find shortcuts and ways to work smarter not harder.

Wonderful...Thank you for your creativity, humility and putting it out in layman's terms so that anyone who might want to attempt doing this has some kind of templete as a way to get started without being so intimidated. You are encouraging others without even knowing it!

Cinder blocks are great that lots of you tubers do not use.

I used the exact same approach as you of doing the 4 corners first then going to the centre beam and then all the other deck blocks just kind of follow. It seemed way more intuitive to me to get the 4 corners super solid and level with each other and then doing the rest. I did this before I saw your video and similiar approach and I was like hey maybe this is a legit way to do it after all! haha it worked for me. I like your style and I learn a lot from your videos. Keep up the good work!

Good job. If that method works for you then go with it. You brought out some good ideas. Bottom line is that it worked.

All good. Especially with just one person, I'm just looking to see how people are dealing with making joists level on posts. Thanks.

I liked your video but, you continued to repeat yourself over and over to the point where I got bored and left. Good luck😊Thanks for making the video…

Great info, was thinking of building small deck using deck blocks because it would be easier and I'm not as able-bodied as I once was but am rethinking as you said it is somewhat labor intensive.

Thanks a ton! I am attempting to build a 28x16 floating deck. My first deck build. Also building it solo so going to follow your lead. Watched your video and pretty sure can handle after watching..Thanks again!

You said you’re putting a gazebo on top of the deck, hell, you could put a house on top of that deck. Kudos to you and the strength of the deck but using beams under the floor joists could of saved you some money and your back, but then again hindsight is always better. Good job though.
