Deciphering Clutter, Hoarding, and Hoarding Disorder: Understanding the Differences: In this video, we delve into the world of clutter, hoarding, and hoarding disorder, exploring the subtle yet significant distinctions between these often misunderstood terms. Clutter, while messy and disorganized, is generally manageable and doesn't interfere with daily life. Hoarding, on the other hand, is a more severe accumulation of possessions that begins to disrupt normal functioning. And hoarding disorder, a recognized mental health condition, is characterized by an excessive accumulation of items, accompanied by difficulty discarding them, even when they have no value or utility. Join us as we unpack the key differences between these three concepts, exploring the causes, symptoms, and impacts of each. We'll also provide insights into how to identify hoarding disorder and seek appropriate support. I hope you find it insightful and informative.

A neighbor of mine is crippled by arthritis. But she also has OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) which prevents her from discarding junk -- especially junk mail. There is so much junk mail in her house that she can hardly move through her house in her wheel chair. If there were ever a fire in her house, she would not be able to escape.

Thank you. I’m glad to learn I have more clutter issues due to fatigue, ADD, and lack of organization skills. I have no issues at all tossing unnecessary and unused items.

Hi Nena, it's so good to see you. Thank you for this video. It surely clarifies the difference. Have you made a video that focuses only on disorder and what it entails for each category? If it is too much to cover, can you make a series? I'm sure a lot of us can be Blessed if you do.

If you’re a minimalist then everything shown in this video would be considered clutter 😆 😉
