I've been accused of being a hoarder when in reality I just don't have the space to properly display my collections of vintage vinyl records and books.

I collect but also was hoarding, holding on to stuff because "I'm going to do this or that with it" but 2 3 years later have not done anything with it so now I just smash and break the stuff so it has to be thrown away.

Interesting video👍 I always joke about being a hoarder because I have so much junk😊(junk...meaning miscellaneous items not worth very much at the moment or maybe not worth very much ever to a huge percent of the population. But enjoyed by the person who collects it) I would not regard these items as hoarding, Even if they're not organized.
And also, sometimes people collect odd items and are not quick to invite people over and show off those items. For example one of my collections are about 50 VHS and DVD players. All over the place but not very organized. But.... organization is a great way to keep from being called a hoarder. I just wish I had more time in my 60-80 hour work weeks. And you have to pay the bills first.
One last point is the amount of work you will cause someone else to have to do when you pass away. Probably that is the biggest thing you should be concerned about. If I caused my kids time and money to have to clean up my collection, something they may have little interest in, then my hoarding/collecting May be considered negative. Even if there is, those who inherit it, they may not know how to get value from it. So leave instructions in your will and make it as easy as possible. Maybe an organization that would love to have all your junk. Have a good one.
(Says the horder😂)
